Military supplier Saab is debuting concept models of its new meter-long drone hunter missile, Nimbrix, at DSEI UK 2025 in London.
While Saab unveiled the product in August 2025, DSEI UK is the first time that scale versions of Nimbrix will have been viewed by the public.
On the opening day of DSEI UK, five replica Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) missiles were unveiled, appearing not much larger than a baseball bat.
During a briefing at DSEI UK on September 9, 2025, Head of Product unit Ground Based Air Defense, Mats-Olof Rydberg, said the Nimbrix model was designed to be a “cost-efficient” defense method that can be deployed from a variety of launchers.
Rydberg described Nimbrix as a “short-range, high precision” counter drone missile which had been under development for around a year.

As well as preparing a production facility, Saab is also looking into containerized final assembly options to support future customers.
The company has carried out at least five test campaigns during development and believes it could deliver its first Nimbrix missiles within 12 months.
The Nimbrix has been designed to enable “hostile drones [to] be neutralized in a cost-effective and efficient way”.

“It’s rapid prototyping. So far, it’s been very successful. That is a key driver for this product to break the cost occurring of developing missiles,” said Rydberg.
Nimbrix has a range of five kilometers with an active seeker to track its target. Its warhead can effectively engage and defeat UAS swarms using an air-burst mode.
In August, Stefan Öberg, Head of Saab’s Business Unit Missile Systems, said: “Nimbrix is our answer to the unmanned aerial threats which have escalated in the last few years. It is cost-effective, which is critical given the proliferation of UASs on the battlefield. Nimbrix benefits from our long experience of air defense, together with an agile way of responding to new needs.”
Weighing just under 3kg, the Nimbrix missile is far smaller than Saab’s RBS15 and RBS 70 weapons.
