Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced it is expanding its European network with increased flight frequencies to several key cities and the launch of a new route to Madrid.

The airline announced the expansion on August 4, 2026, saying the moves respond to growing demand for air travel to Europe among passengers connecting through its Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) hub.

More frequent service to existing European destinations

SIA is progressively increasing flights to four cities it already serves.

Flights to Manchester will increase from five times weekly to daily service.

At London-Gatwick Airport (LGW), the airline will step up its second daily tranche to a full daily operation during the Northern winter 2026 operating season, complementing its existing daily flights SQ312 and SQ309.

Combined with four daily flights to London-Heathrow Airport (LHR), that will bring SIA’s total London services to up to six times daily.

Flights to Milan will increase from four times weekly to daily starting October 25, 2026.

A new three-times-weekly service to Munich will launch the following day, on October 26, 2026, bringing SIA’s total weekly Munich services to 10.

Madrid joins SIA’s European network

SIA will also launch five-times-weekly service between Singapore and Madrid, via Barcelona, starting October 26, 2026.

The route makes Madrid the airline’s 15th European destination and its second in Spain.

SIA will operate the Airbus A350-900 long-haul variant, configured with 253 seats, on the Singapore-Barcelona-Madrid route.

The airline pointed to Madrid’s cultural draws, including its museums and the Royal Palace of Madrid, as well as its role as a business and financial hub connecting Europe and Latin America, as reasons for its mix of leisure and commercial appeal.

SIA’s Europe push ties into 60th anniversary in the Philippines

Liwei Tai, General Manager Philippines for Singapore Airlines, said Europe remains a popular destination for travelers and that the network enhancements reflect the airline’s effort to meet that demand with greater choice and connectivity.

She said the addition of Madrid, alongside increased frequencies to Manchester, London Gatwick, Milan, and Munich, will give travelers from the APAC region more convenient options to connect to Europe through Singapore.

Tai added that as Singapore Airlines marks 60 years of service in the Philippines this year, the airline plans to continue investing in its network and products to deliver a high-quality, end-to-end travel experience for its customers.
