Wizz Air has welcomed its 200th Airbus A320neo family aircraft after receiving its eighth A321XLR in a landmark moment for the low-cost carrier.

On May 13, 2025, Wizz Air said that the Airbus A320neo family had “transformed the airline’s operational capabilities” since the first arrived in 2019.

The airline said the aircraft has enabled it to operate with higher capacity and provide “enhanced passenger comfort” and has been “central to Wizz Air’s ultra-low-cost model”.

“This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to growth, innovation, and emissions intensity efficiency,” said Owain Jones, Wizz Air’s Chief Corporate Officer. “From our first A321neo in 2019 to our 200th today, we have built one of the youngest, most efficient fleets in the industry. This is not just a celebration of numbers—it’s a testament to our vision for the future of air travel.”

Jones added: “We don’t stop here, but continue the development of our fleet, and aim for an all-neo fleet by 2029, further enhancing passenger experience and further reducing our emissions intensity.”

Upon completion of current delivery, Wizz Air’s neo fleet is expected to consist of six A320neo, eight A321XLR, and 186 A321neo aircraft.

Wizz Air plans to continue its expansion, with additional A321neo aircraft on order and eventually operate an all Airbus A321neo fleet. The airline’s current fleet currently includes A320-200s and A321-200s.

In another milestone last year, Wizz welcomed its 250th aircraft to its fleet on November 28, 2025. The carrier launched in 2004, with the airline’s first jet, an Airbus A320-200.
