US-based private jet airline Aero has announced it has launched the first semi-private scheduled service serving the Coachella Valley area in California’s Colorado Desert. Coachella is the location of the world-renowned Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which is being held from April 12 to 21, 2024, and culminates over the weekend of April 19 to 21, 2024 featuring headline music acts Lana Del Ray, Blur, and Doja Cat all taking to the main stage.

The new initiative which offers customers the full private jet experience, is being offered for sale from just $975. According to an Aero statement, the service “marks a new era in festival travel, offering unparalleled convenience and luxury to attendees.” The limited set of flights is being offered in partnership with a leading US event-based hospitality company RPPROJECTS.

All flights operate from Van Nuys Airport (VNY) near Los Angeles, California, where Aero operates its own private terminal. The scheduled semi-private service lands at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport (TRM) near the town of Indio, California which is located approximately a ten-minute drive to Coachella Valley, where the festival is held.

All flights are scheduled to last around 55 minutes, although actual airborne times are likely to be shorter at around 25 to 35 minutes. Starting at just $975 each way and $1,950 roundtrip from Van Nuys (VNY), the exclusive Coachella flights are aimed particularly at luxury high-end travelers and had already begun to sell out the day they went on sale on April 11, 2024.

“We’re thrilled to launch Aero flights to some of the world’s largest music, sporting, art, and entertainment events in 2024,” says Ben Klein, CEO of Aero. “Flying Aero means getting to the airport 20 minutes before your flight and avoiding all the hassles associated with traveling commercially, including long lines, crowds, and baggage claim.”

“Once airborne, our guests enjoy complimentary amenities including Starlink Wi-Fi, in-flight dining, and a premium open bar. Aero guests desire an exceptional travel experience – and our average NPS score of 92 is a testament to our attention to detail and level of commitment. It’s unlike any other offering on the market,” adds Klein.

Aero operates as a semi-private airline offering luxury seating options and experience aboard its scheduled flights. The company operates two types of aircraft on its semi-private lights. The first is a VIP-configured Embraer ERJ135 twinjet which accommodates up to 16 passengers, in a 1-1 internal layout with every passenger having window and aisle access. The other type is a Bombardier Legacy 600 which seats up to ten passengers plus two flight crew. All aircraft feature stylish interiors and an eye-catching all-black external color scheme.

Each flight also has a cabin attendant on board for the passengers’ convenience plus all customers are offered dedicated concierge services before boarding and after landing. All Aero passengers can access their flights via private terminals or fixed base operators (FBO). This means that passengers are not required to wait in queues to pass through Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security lines at public airports.

The company is hoping that the new services serving the Coachella festival will mark the launch pad for other VIP tours, flights, and packages serving other high-profile arts, sports, and music events to be held around the US in the future.
