Day three of Farnborough Airshow 2026 kicks off looking to surpass Tuesday’s 82 firm aircraft orders split between the main commercial manufacturers Airbus, Boeing and Embraer.
According to ADS, on July 21, 2025, $21 billion worth of aircraft deals were secured, a 5% increase on day two in 2024, when Farnborough Airshow was last held.
Away from the event yesterday, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said that at mid-term in the year the company’s 2026 guidance remains the same, meaning the planemaker is still aiming to deliver around “around 870” aircraft by year end.
After ordering Boeing Dreamliners on day two, Philippine Airlines turned to rival Airbus where the carrier purchased nine A350-1000s.
Embraer sold 28 E190/195 E2 family jets to three operators including Abra Group, parent company of Avianca and GOL, Spanish regional carrier Binter and Luxemburg’s Luxair.
Boeing received its first ever order from Uganda Airlines and sold 15 787-9s to AerCap and five 777-8 Freighters to MSC Air Cargo.
In other news Pratt & Whitney Canada said that after several years of development it would begin ground testing of its hybrid-electric propulsion system and propeller.
Following completion of the ground tests, the system will be installed on a Dash 8-100 experimental aircraft with the first flight expected in 2027.

JetZero secures backing from Gulf Air, Japan Airlines at Farnborough 2026
JetZero, the startup currently developing a clean-sheet blended-wing-body (BWB) airliner, secured the endorsement of two prominent international airlines at Farnborough International Airshow 2026.
On July 21, 2026, JetZero announced that Bahrain-based carrier Gulf Air had signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to secure preferential delivery slots for its future Z4 airliner.

Electra selects Ohio for future $850 million EL9 aircraft production site
Electra has announced that it is investing $850 million to build its EL9 nine-seater hybrid-electric aircraft production facility in Springfield, Ohio.
The announcement was made on July 21, 2026, during Farnborough International Airshow, at an event attended by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Electra’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Marc Allen.
