Ultra-low-cost US carrier Frontier Airlines has announced the introduction of a new service, UpFront Plus. The service will allow passengers who pay a supplement access to the first two rows of seating on its aircraft. The newly upgraded seats will provide extra leg and elbow room and ensure customers are first off the aircraft once it arrives at its destination. Introductory upgrade pricing starts at $49 per passenger, per flight segment.

All passengers opting for the service will benefit from either a window or aisle seat with extra legroom and a guaranteed empty middle seat. The new service will be available on Frontier flights from April 10, 2024.

“Many consumers strongly prefer a seating option that offers extra space when flying,” said Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier Airlines. “Frontier is all about choice and giving consumers the flexibility to customize their travel to suit their individual needs and preferences. UpFront Plus is a great option for those who want expanded personal space and extra comfort.”

With the introduction of the new service offering, Frontier passengers will now have the choice of four cabin experiences on Frontier-operated services. Apart from UpFront Plus, customers can select a premium seat (which offers extra legroom only), preferred seating (which provides a seat toward the front of the cabin allowing quicker disembarkation), and standard seats further down the aircraft.

“With the recent introduction of our new Biz Travel For Less program, UpFront Plus seating will also provide an affordable upgrade option for those traveling on business seeking additional space,” Biffle added.
