Malaysia Airlines launches inaugural flight to Da Nang, Vietnam using B737-800

Malaysia Airlines has launched its inaugural flight to Da Nang, Vietnam, the start of a seven-times weekly flight.

Flight MH 748 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) at 08:35 local time on September 24, 2024, and arrived at Da Nang International Airport (DAD) at 10:25 local time.

The maiden flight carried a total of 155 passengers, including 12 in business class and 143 in economy class. To commemorate the occasion, passengers were given limited-edition postcards that featured landscapes of Da Nang. 

Da Nang is the fourth largest city in Vietnam, and is known to be the center of three world cultural heritage sites: Hue Ancient Town, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary.

The return flight, MH749 from Da Nang to Kuala Lumpur, departed at 11:25 local time and landed back in Kuala Lumpur at 15:20 pm local time.

“We are delighted to have launched our inaugural flight to Da Nang, achieving an impressive load factor of 90%, reflecting strong demand for travel to this beautiful city and symbolizing another significant step in our commitment to being the carrier of choice for travelers,” Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, Chief Executive Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) said in a statement.

“This new service marks our third destination to Vietnam, not only enhancing connectivity but also opens doors for our passengers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Da Nang, establishing the airline as the gateway to Asia and beyond,” Azmi added.
