A father and his two sons were arrested at Istanbul Airport (IST) after forcing their way onto a jet bridge and jumping down onto the runway in an attempt to catch their missed flight.
The three men were booked on an AnadoluJet flight from IST Airport to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) on July 4, 2023.
However, as reported by The Times of Israel, boarding had already finished and the plane’s door was closed by the time the men arrived at the gate.
That did not deter the father and sons who reportedly forced themselves onto the jet bridge that had connected to the plane and jumped down onto the runway even after the plane had moved.
The wild attempt was caught on video and uploaded to Twitter. In the beginning of the clip, one of the men can be seen dangling from the jet bridge and eventually landing on the runway, before making a dash for the AnadoluJet aircraft.
The following scene shows airport staff and officials gathering around the man.
The three men were eventually arrested by airport security and taken to a police station.
On June 16, 2023, a passenger at Spain’s Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) also took his chance and jumped 12 feet from the jet bridge to the runway in an effort to catch a flight to Morocco that he had just missed.
