Taylor Swift has arrived in Melbourne for the Australian leg of her global Eras tour, and her fans, including flight attendants, have been ready and waiting for this.

A Qantas flight attendant on a flight to Melbourne Airport (MEL) on February 15, 2024 is getting praises from Taylor Swift fans – known as ‘Swifties’ all over the world – for gamely starting a sing-along during the flight.

The flight, which departed from Perth Airport (PER) was presumably full of Swifties flying to Melbourne to attend Swift’s three-night concert in the Victorian capital, from February 16-18, 2024.

In a video taken by one of the passengers, the flight attendant, identified as Paul Pillatti, can be seen walking up and down the aisle asking everyone, “Let’s sing-along to ‘Cruel Summer’, do you know it?”

Pilatti was referring to the hit song from Swift’s 2019 album, ‘Lover’.

When passengers indicated that they knew the song, Pillatti then said, “On the count of three – one, two, three…” and the crowd started singing the song’s chorus while Pillatti gestured with his arms like a conductor.

Plenty of Swifties, both within and outside of Australia, have since tagged Qantas in their comments, saying that Pillatti should be given a raise.

The Australian flag carrier responded by declaring, “Paul deserves his own concert!”

Pillatti’s own daughter also commented on the post, saying, “Just dad being dad,” while others replied by calling Pillatti ‘the world’s greatest dad’.

According to entertainment outlet Variety, Swift’s Eras tour has become the highest grossing of all time, unseating previous record holder, Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ tour, which opened in 2009 and grossed $261.2 million at the global box office.
