Riyadh Air has shared photos of its first production Boeing 787 Dreamliner painted in its indigo and lavender livery that was unveiled at King Khaled International Airport (RUH) in June 2023.
On October 4, 2026, Riyadh Air turned to social media where it posted a series of pictures of the aircraft, registered HZ-RXAK, tagging manufacturer Boeing as well.
In its post, translated by X from Arabic, Riyadh Air wrote: “First look at our Nile Blue Boeing 787 Dreamliner after the completion of its painting.”
According to ch-aviation data, Riyadh Air has so far received eight Boeing 787-9 aircraft. However, all eight Dreamliners are painted in the airline’s alternative white, indigo and lavender colors.

When Riyadh Air unveiled the indigo and lavender livery in 2023, it said its brand identity are “inspired by the warmth and hospitality of the Kingdom and the vibrant lavender colors that carpet the desert in the spring, the beautiful livery is one of a series which will continue to push boundaries in aviation”.
The airline added: “It has been designed to incorporate visual references to the Kingdom and the city which include the sweeping curves of Arabic script with the global campaign tagline ‘The Future Takes Flight’.”
PriestmanGoode was assigned the challenge by Riyadh Air to “design two elegant and bold livery designs that would position them at the forefront of the next generation of airlines”.
The company said the color palette was refined to five primary colors including lavender, Sunset Peach and Indigo.

“We pushed the design boundaries for the two livery designs to match Riyadh Air’s ambitions. The first livery design for their new fleet was a statement indigo livery,” PriestmanGoode said. “It is inspired by the ever-changing colours that paint the sky, from dusk till dawn.
The company added: “The second livery features a custom iridescent paint colour for the brand to stand out. “
It is not the first time a Boeing 787 in Riyadh Air’s indigo has been seen. Between June 2023 and October 2024, a promotional Boeing 787 featuring the indigo livery was showcased at aviation events, including the 54th Paris Air Show.
The aircraft, registered N8572C, eventually joined TAAG Angola Airlines’ fleet in 2025 and is now registered as D2-TEQ.
