Amazon has filed a patent application for the storage and delivery of products using blimps and unmanned aerial vehicles.
As reported by Meduza, Amazon is going to use blimps as airborne warehouses that will be sent to areas where there is an expected demand for a particular commodity.
In addition, smaller drones will deliver directly to customers from the “mother-aircraft“. Such a system is claimed to significantly reduce delivery time.
In early December 2016, Amazon for the first time delivered an order to the buyer by a drone. A customer from the UK ordered a set-top box and popcorn.
Amazon claimed that the customer received the products in 13 minutes after placing the order.
