747 Family
747 Family at a glance
The Boeing 747 is the original wide-body 'jumbo jet'. Its final passenger generation, the 747-8 Intercontinental, stretches the fuselage to 76.3 m, the longest airliner ever built until the 777-9, and uses four GEnx-2B67 engines derived from the 787.
747 production ended in 2023, and only a handful of carriers still fly the 747-8I in passenger service. Below, the variant specification is set out in full; the rest of the page covers operators and the latest 747 news from AeroTime. A 747-8F freighter was also produced.
