Embraer receives E2 orders from Abra Group, Binter, Luxair at Farnborough 2026
Farnborough Airshow 2026 opens for the second day after day one delivered 234 firm aircraft orders, generating $28.6 billion in revenue.
Among the biggest Farnborough Airshow announcements on July 20, 2025, was lessor SMBC Aviation Capital first purchasing 100 737 MAX aircraft from Boeing and then later in the day ordering 100 A320neo-family aircraft from Airbus.
Archer and Anduril shared some very interesting news as the two companies unveiled ‘Thunder’, a jointly developed autonomous, dual-use hybrid-electric VTOL platform.
Philippine Airlines extended its 80-year partnership with Boeing with an order for 15 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, along with purchase rights for five additional aircraft.
On July 21, 2026, Philippine Airlines also announced it had selected GE Aerospace to power the new Boeing 787-10 fleet.
Riyadh Air also firmed up an order for six additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, bringing its total firm commitment for the type to 31 jets.
British Airways has also selected Pratt & Whitney’s GTF engines to power its next round of Airbus A320neo aircraft, covering 33 firm orders and 30 additional options.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has signed an agreement with GE Aerospace for GEnx-1B engines to power its incoming fleet of 15 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, along with purchase rights for five additional aircraft.
The deal was formalized at a signing ceremony during the Farnborough International Airshow on July 20, 2026, led by Lucio C. Tan III, President and Chief Operating Officer of PAL Holdings, Richard Nuttall, President of Philippine Airlines, and senior GE Aerospace executives.
Philippine Airlines adds nine more Airbus A350-1000s to fleet at Farnborough 2026
Philippine Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for nine additional A350-1000 aircraft, along with purchase rights for five more, reinforcing its push to grow its long-haul network and modernize its fleet.
Announced July 21, 2026, at the Farnborough International Airshow, the deal builds on PAL’s current A350-1000 fleet, which flies nonstop routes between Manila and both New York and Toronto.

Embraer sold 28 E190/195 E2 family aircraft to three operators during the first two days of the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow. The bulk goes to Abra Group, parent company of Avianca and GOL, which ordered 20 E195 E2s with options for up to 45 total, while Spanish regional carrier Binter added five more E195 E2s and Luxembourg’s Luxair converted three E190-E2 purchase rights into firm orders with an additional option secured.

Startup Tajik carrier Shohin Airlines orders four A320neo jets
Shohin Airlines, a new Tajikistan-based carrier, has been revealed as the buyer behind an order for four A320neo family aircraft, two A320neos and two A321neos, previously listed as an “undisclosed customer” in Airbus’s order book.
Disclosed on July 21, 2026, at the Farnborough International Airshow, the order supports the privately-owned airline’s plans to launch scheduled passenger service out of Dushanbe, with potential routes to destinations like Moscow, Delhi, Astana, and Dubai.

Leasing firm AerCap has placed a new order for 15 Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with the option to upgauge to the larger 787-10 later on, bringing its total Dreamliner order book to 140 aircraft. Azorra orders up to 30 Embraer E190F P2F freighters at Farnborough 2026
Azorra, a leasing firm with a strong focus on small narrowbody aircraft, placed an order with Embraer for 20 E-190F cargo aircraft, plus 10 options, during the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow.
